This page presents the student projects of the Text Mining 2016 course. The goal of the Text Mining course is to introduce the field of natural language processing (NLP) to 3rd year Lifestyle Informatics and Information Multimedia and Management students and to give them the practical knowledge to perform basic NLP tasks on texts using off-the-shelf tools. In 7 weeks, the students learn about the theory and technologies used in the NLP domain, possibilities/ as well as the limitations. During the course, the students will create an application that involves at least two NLP tasks, evaluate the results and present a balanced report about their experiment. This will provide them with a a basis for research at master level.
The Text Mining course can be considered a crash course in the topics treated in the Research Master Linguistic Engineering.
